Competencies

Process performance and project success depend heavily on competencies management, which is thus a continuous concern.

ASK has published many studies on competencies management and on guidelines that must be followed during the rollout phase of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). The fine distinction between competencies management and management by competencies is an essential conclusion that emerges from these studies.

Managing competencies means updating the set of existing competencies so that it can be mapped onto the set of required competencies.

Managing by competencies means engaging in an in-depth reflection at the managerial level in order to give individual competencies room to emerge and develop. Among other things, this implies welcoming initiatives and recognizing the right to make mistakes.
